Background

In high school, I was a member of DECA, an association that prepares students for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. DECA's mission is to develop leadership, career readiness, and business skills in its members and through this organization I attended conferences and debate competitions allowing me to learn from industry experts and gain real world experience. I was able to graduate from Chaparral High School a semester early in 2020 and went on to earn my bachelor's degree in Business Management with a Certification in Marketing from NAU in May 2024. My professional journey started as a self-employed pet sitter, where I learned the value of responsibility and customer service. My love for animals led me to shadow Dr. Stolper at Animal Ranch Hospital, where I observed surgeries and assisted with animal care. Throughout my time at NAU, I earned the Dean's Scholarship every semester. One of my most rewarding experiences was competing in the Drink Marquis marketing campaign competition. My team and I worked directly with Marquis to develop a comprehensive marketing campaign given a specified target audience. We brainstormed creative concepts, designed a static billboard, and developed a TikTok ad featuring influencer marketing, and even produced a commercial to bring the campaign to life. Seeing our ideas go from concept to execution was so fun, and our hard work paid off when we won 1st place out of all participating teams. It was a real world opportunity to showcase my marketing skills and work in a collaborative, deadline driven environment.
